Taking up the work again, I strengthened the color by nourishing it, increasing contrast and light, and playing with complementary tones. Like a nose searching for the note that makes a perfume stand out.
Having had a front-row seat this spring to a fire ravaging the valley overlooking my house, though frozen by anguish and fear of eminent danger, I fixed the memory of a fascinating spectacle.
At that very moment, Pierre Lemaitre gave me the title of the series I was about to produce:
"COULEURS DE L'INCENDIE" (COLORS OF FIRE)
It's about colors in action, reaching their climax. How do you make them burst forth in their movement and intensity? Art is artifice, the perfumer is an artificer and the painter creates the recipe for his fireworks..
